POKER RESULTS: Up to 14/01/2010

I'm setting this up to keep an eye on results as I go through the year, see how I develop as I play, good or bad. As background for those that don't know I never really played much cash except in my early underolled clueless days on Ladbrokes and Mansion. Since I have took the game more seriously I did dabble a bit when bored on Stars and Full Tilt and thought I did ok in $50NL+ had some fun shots at $400NL/$600NL to (I clearly wasn't doing well, although made a little running good on the higher stakes, I got pwned at $50NL) playing the shortstack hero (I now see why shortstackings hated, since I have started playing full stack micro, fecking bottom feeders the lot of 'em ;o)

I decided I wanted to learn 6 max cash properly and to do that I think starting from the ground up is the right way, first to get a feel for multi tarbing, I play 4-6 at a time cascaded. Any less I start to get bored and over elaborate in my play.

The flexibility has been great to, no more arguments at home when "she" wants attention or dinners going cold. Just take auto blinds off play the last few hands up to my next BB, tell her I'll be off in a minute and it's all happy days.

I see cash as one continuous infinite game, so ten mins here an hour there to suit, plus when I have the time I set proper session times, up to 2 hours. I really don't get upset with beats and happily log off if I feel it isn't going my way or I'm at a tough table or I'm not concentrating properly.

Learning proper table selections another big thing I need to get my head round. ATM, I look for 5 to a table, minimum 3 Full Stacks preferably all full stacked. The Full stacks to my right and shorties to my left. With a high players to pot % and to a degree high average pot % although this is deceptive I find, it's hard to judge if it's a newish table etc. Advice there would be great.

My attitudes changed alot to, I don't care if I'm beat by a donk, I'm just glad they are there playing badly, the more donks I play with the more I win in the long run. I only get frustrated if I play a hand badly, be it not getting enough value or whatever. Even then it's positive because I'm self aware and can correct this in the future. Why worry about what others do, that's completely out of my control, as long as I play the hand correctly that's all that matters.

Cash really suits me and thanks to alot of insight from reading and discussing hands on RtR I feel my games improving. If I post a HH or comment on anothers hand and I'm put right on my thinking by the more advanced/experienced players it's such a massive help and really focuses me to review situations and get my head around thought processes. I still don't use tracking software or HUD, so it's intriguing to see how my results are affected when I do inevitably get the software and get to grips with it. It will be a real transitional year for me, so fingers crossed.

Below are my results so far and will be kept up to date periodically.

Thanks to Mr Origami and BurnleyMik. I had no idea how to sort a spreadsheet out to make it visual on the blog, now I do. Although it's still a bit blurry.

Played my first home game of the year last night although wasn't in the mood tbh, just have online grind on the mind atm and playing the home game seemed a waste of potential multi tarbing time with the missus out with her mates! I NEED TO GET A GRIP! The last thing I want is to miss opportunities to go out with mates and alienate myself. Amatay wrote a good post recently that made me take a look at my relationships socially and I found myself to be falling off certain friends radars so, finding a balance is the key I guess! Anyways here's to the next $100 profit and hopefully moving up comfortably to $25NL!

Ends.
